To remind the world that the war is on, to honor the memory of those who have fallen, to support each other and all those who continue to fight, Ukrainians will come together in what will once again be the epicenter of the Ukrainian spirit in Britain.
To mark the third anniversary of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian occupiers, an official public event will be held in London on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Starting at 18:30, British and Ukrainian politicians, civic leaders and allies who have been supporting Ukraine for three years will speak at Trafalgar Square. And at 19:45, a big live concert by the popular Ukrainian band Antytila will start in the heart of the British capital.
“This event comes at a time when further international support is vital. It is being held to remind the world that the war in Ukraine is ongoing and the fight for freedom, justice and victory is unstoppable. In previous years, the event has gathered from 5,000 to 7,000 participants, but this year’s event is expected to be even bigger and we are confident that this event will prove to everyone that the entire Ukrainian people, in different parts of the world, have risen and continue to stand for the defense of the state in different ways. “ – the organizers of the event report.
As for the musical content of the rally, we would like to remind you that from the first days of the full-scale invasion, the members of the Antytila band left the stage and became volunteers. They began to fulfill their civil and military duty as paramedics at the front line. Today, after being withdrawn from the frontline, the band has returned to music and through their art tells the world their own story of resistance, gathering tens of thousands of people at their concerts and tens of millions of hryvnias for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Doing everything possible to keep the topic of Ukraine relevant in the world.
“We are preparing a special big Ukrainian and English program for Trafalgar. Not only Ukrainians in Britain, but also the British, whom we can confidently call “our own”, will gather on the square. Because even though they have never had a Ukrainian passport and were born far from Ukraine, they have always shared values and principles with us, Ukrainians. And from the very beginning of this unjust war, they have been standing side by side with Ukraine throughout the entire period of resistance, supporting us, donating, sharing our struggle with us,” says Taras Topolia.
Earlier, Antytila announced two large solo concerts in Liverpool and Cardiff, which will take place on February 28 and March 2, respectively. The goal of the planned concerts is not only to bring Ukrainian music to the places and people who need it, but also to unite the Ukrainian community in the UK around the events and traditionally raise funds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
