U2 – Yours Eternally (Lyric Video) ft. Ed Sheeran and Taras Topolia

World premiere: U2, Ed Sheeran, and ANTYTILA present lyric video for new collaborative song “Yours Eternally”

U2, Ed Sheeran, and ANTYTILA presented a lyric video for their new joint song “Yours Eternally.” The composition is included in U2’s new EP “Days Of Ash.”

A special feature of the new album is that each song is dedicated to a specific person.

The song “Yours Eternally” was written by Bono and The Edge after meeting Taras Topolia and the band ANTYTILA and performing together in Kyiv and London.

U2 invited their friend, singer Ed Sheeran, and Taras Topolia to participate in the studio recording of “Yours Eternally.”

The lyric video features all the musicians of the band ANTYTILA, their military brothers-in-arms, and Ukrainian civilians who, in the fourth year of full-scale war, continue to show unique resilience and character.

The composition was deliberately created in a major, light mood, and its lyrics are presented in the form of a letter from a soldier with a lively and defiant spirit, reflecting the spirit of Ukraine, urging people not to despair, to achieve, to fight, and to walk side by side with their comrades toward their goal, despite all circumstances and difficulties.

The studio production of the song “Yours Eternally” was carried out by renowned Irish producer, multiple Grammy nominee and winner Garret “Jacknife” Lee.

Here’s what the musicians of U2 have to say about the new EP and the song Yours Eternally:

Bono:

“…when we first met, despite everything that was happening, despite the daily horrors that Ukrainians were experiencing, Taras and his friends did not lose heart. They also had that slightly dark sense of humor and that defiant spirit that we love so much in the best rock ‘n’ roll — that strength of character that seems to challenge the very times we live in… And it is this spirit that we tried to convey in Yours Eternally.

This song is like a message from the front lines, where a soldier says to his friends — boldly, a little mischievously: “Listen, don’t hang your heads, live, dream, stay up late. I would do the same if I were home with you. And I will… soon.”

The Edge:

“We believe in a world where borders are not erased by force.

Where culture, language, and memory are not silenced by fear.

Where the dignity of a people is not a bargaining chip.

This belief is not temporary.

It is not a political fad.

It is the ground on which we stand.

And we stand on it together.”

Taras Topolia, leader of the band ANTYTILA:

Once, Bono asked me: what single word could be used to describe the Ukrainian character? Without hesitation, I replied: Will. Some time passed, and he sent me a demo of “Yours Eternally” with the words: I feel that today, more than ever, we all need this.

When I heard the chorus of the song, which consisted of only one Ukrainian word, Will, and was sung by Bono, The Edge, and Ed Sheeran, I got goosebumps. And when Bono said that the song was missing my voice, my team and I, despite blackouts, air raid sirens, and all the difficulties, still recorded it in the studio. That’s how this song, united by common values, came to be.

We are grateful to U2 and Ed Sheeran for their constant attention and support for Ukraine. It is very valuable!

The song can be heard live at the Sports Palace during three concerts by the band ANTYTILA on March 20-22 in Kyiv.

Reminder:

ANTYTILA is currently on a nationwide tour called “At Home.” The musicians have played almost 20 sold-out concerts, with just as many still to come. The tour will conclude with three unique live shows at the Sports Palace in Kyiv in March.
