THE UNICEF YOUTH AMBASSADOR OF UKRAINE TARAS TOPOLIA TOOK PART IN THE OPENING OF THE UNICEF PHOTO EXHIBITION «DEFENSE OF CHILDREN’S RIGHTS IN THE EAST OF UKRAINE» AT VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE.
The photo exhibition was organized within The Week of Human Rights in Verkhovna Rada and is a part of the UNICEF events devoted to the 30th anniversary of Convention on the Rights of the Child. As half a million of children in the east of our state face abuse of their rights every day because of combat activity in Donbas. The head of the UNICEF in Ukraine Lotta Sylwander, the head of the Committee on the issues of human rights, deoccupation and reintegration of temporarily occupied territories Dmytro Lubinets, and the UNICEF youth ambassador of Ukraine and the lead singer of ANTYTILA band Taras Topolia took part in press briefing. "The children's dreams in the East must come true. Now it is hard to talk about dreams, when hundreds of thousands of children have no opportunity to meet even their basic requirements. Our aim is to draw attention of everybody whom the future of Ukrainian children depends on, to their rights, and to urge on working towards their integral provision no matter how difficult political and military situations in Ukraine are", noted Taras Topolia at the opening. Within the opening the performance of the Choir of young males under the municipal academic male chapel named by L. Revutskyi in which Taras Topolia used to perform. They sang «Щедрик» a capella.
